The Pymble Institute is committed to learning, and we actively use research to deepen and expand our perspectives. We create opportunities for staff to share research and network with other teacher-researchers and academics.

1:1 Research Support

Personalised guidance and support for staff members working on their Master’s or PhD research projects.

Assistance for staff conducting action research projects.

Support for scholarship, grant and award applications

Support in preparing applications for various scholarships, grants and awards, including Pymble Professional Learning Grants and International Coalition of Girls’ Schools (ICGS) Global Action Research Collaborative (GARC).  

Research participation opportunities

Opportunities to participate in research projects and collaborate with renowned academics.

Staff have access to innovative workshops aimed at helping improve their research skills.

All staff also have opportunities to write for and have their work published in Illuminate, the College’s research journal.

Professional Learning

Opportunities to engage with and utilise the services and knowledge of guest speakers for professional development.

Access to innovative workshops aimed at helping staff improve their research skills.

Education Journal Club

Coordination of the Education Journal Club’s regular termly meetings and special events. Staff from the College, other schools and universities come together to discuss educational research in a friendly forum.

GARC

We proudly support the International Coalition of Girls’ Schools Global Action Research Collaboration.

Participation in Pymble Institute Events

Whether as guest or presenter, staff are invited to participate in the College’s annual research conference, with opportunities to present research findings.

Staff are also welcome to attend our Research Conversations afternoons dedicated to discussing and presenting research.

Pymble Ethics Committee

Involvement in the Ethics Committee helps ensure research projects meet ethical standards and guidelines.

Student Mentorship

Staff have the opportunity to provide guidance and mentorship to students involved in various research-related projects such as the Sokratis Research Program and Sokratis Junior (Years 4 to 6).

Postgraduate Network Group

A network of postgraduate researchers who provide each other writing and editing support.

Annual Fellowship

An annual Fellowship program brings an experienced researcher into the College to work with students and staff.

Academic Partnerships

We develop partnerships with academics on a range of projects for staff and students.
