The RTG STEM Scholarship is dedicated to the empowerment of young women through STEM. The opportunity of a scholarship is designed to nurture, inspire and elevate a girl to thrive, be a positive role-model and contribute a resilient, resourceful and innovative mind to embrace and influence the future. 

The RTG STEM Scholarship is generously provided by the Pymble Foundation.

The awarding of scholarships is determined by academic performance, results in the scholarship examination and successful interview.

All candidates must sit the Academic Assessment Services (AAS) examination.

The scholarship examination will be held at the College or remotely (for country candidates and, in some cases, for overseas candidates).

The RTG Scholarship Program will fund individual/s to attend Pymble Ladies’ College as Day students through to successful completion of Year 12.

The Scholarship covers full or part remission of tuition fees (excluding extras) for the duration of the student’s enrolment at the College. Extra student costs, if applicable, based on means-testing: 

  • School uniform 
  • Laptop computer 
  • Cocurricular participation 
  • School related expenses 

Extra student costs will be capped.

Successful scholarship recipients who are not a current Pymble student will be required to pay a $2000 bond when accepting the scholarship within 48 hours of offer. This Bond will be put towards the Term 2 Fee Instalment in 2026. The Bond will be forfeited if the student does not commence at the College.

Successful scholarship recipients who are not a current Pymble student are also required to submit an online Enrolment Application form and pay the Application fee of $440 within 48 hours of offer and the Enrolment Acceptance and Entry Fee of $4400 within four weeks of the scholarship acceptance. These fees are not refundable.

It is recommended that Scholarship applicants tour the College prior to sitting the scholarship examination in order to be able to accept the scholarship within the 48 hour timeframe. Book a tour here.

Scholarship recipients are expected to uphold Pymble’s five core values (Care, Courage, Integrity, Respect and Responsibility) and represent the College with pride.

Scholarships will be reviewed on an annual basis and it is the College’s expectation that students maintain a high academic standard throughout their schooling.

The College Board reserves the right to withdraw a scholarship from any scholarship holder. Scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the College.

The results of the Academic scholarship test are not shared and feedback for unsuccessful applications will not be given.

Criteria

Consideration for qualifying for the Scholarship Award will be given to students who meet the following criteria: 

  • Entering or commencing in Year 9 2026 as a Day student. Candidates are to be in Year 8 and less than 15 years of age on 31 December of the examination year.
  • Demonstrates a strong passion for robotics through active involvement in competition robotics such as VEX or FIRST 
  • Displays strong problem solving skills, teamwork and a commitment to the College Robotics Program  
  • Score results from Academic Scholarship testing of Stanine 9 for both Maths Performance and General Reasoning  
  • Shows a demonstrated commitment to school life through attendance, application and involvement 
  • Committed to the five core values of the College (Care, Courage, Integrity, Respect and Responsibility) 
  • Candidates must be Australian Citizens or International students who have a valid Australian visa. Overseas Student subclass 500 visa holders are not eligible to apply

Steps to Apply

All applications for scholarship testing must be made online through Academic Assessment Services.

Candidates must submit a 300 to 500 word autobiographical essay indicating their special interests and the contribution they would make to the life of the College. This essay will be requested when registering to sit the test with AAS. 

Two reference letters supporting candidate’s interest in the RTG Scholarship Program (current Pymble students do not require a reference).

Important Dates

Registrations for the 2026 RTG STEM Scholarship open on 29 April 2025 and close from 23 July 2025. All students are required to sit the AAS examination on Sunday 10 August 2025.
