Pymble Collaborates with Rafa Nadal Tennis Academy

Pymble is proud to announce a collaboration between the Pymble Tennis Academy and the Rafa Nadal Tennis Academy in Mallorca, Spain.

Adam Raw, Director of Sport at Pymble, said the affiliation is an exciting and important international pathway for Pymble tennis athletes.

Pymble has a proud tennis heritage dating back over 100 years and this collaboration illustrates our commitment to offering unique opportunities for our young athletes who are working towards competing on the global stage. ”

Our girls will train in an international environment, learn from world-class coaches and participate in immersive workshops with talented junior players from all over the globe to elevate their game.

The Rafa Nadal Academy was founded in 2016 by Rafael Nadal, who is widely considered one of the most accomplished tennis players in history. The academy is committed to both player and personal development with a holistic philosophy that incorporates cutting-edge coaching with a focus on respect, humility, discipline, resilience and tolerance.

Pymble selected the Rafa Nadal Academy as our international tennis academy of choice due to the synergy of our respective values. The College values of respect, care, courage, responsibility and integrity align perfectly with the intent at the Rafa Nadal Academy to create exceptional athletes of character and integrity,” said Raw.

In addition to player development, an exchange program will take place in 2025 with Pymble coaches travelling to Spain and academy coaches visiting the College to run clinics and workshops, ensuring that the same elite coaching principles are integrated into the programs at Pymble.

Tara Calderwood, Head Coach of Tennis at Pymble, says the partnership will enhance coaching practices and foster significant growth and enthusiasm for tennis at the College.

“Our coaches will benefit from the exchange of expertise, bringing fresh energy and elite methodologies to the court,” said Calderwood.

“This collaboration promises to ignite a new level of excitement and inspiration, setting the stage for an extraordinary year of tennis development at Pymble Ladies’ College.”

This announcement follows Pymble’s designation as an Australian Olympic Pathway School and the establishment of the Lauren Jackson Basketball Academy in 2024.

Increasing international opportunities for our students is something the College has been working towards for a while now, under our strategic plan, ‘Watch Us Change the World.’
