Australian National Age and Club Championships

The Australian National Age and Club Swimming Championships were held on the Gold Coast over the School holiday period. This included Australia’s best age group competitors and Australia’s best open swimmers as they prepare for Olympic trials in June 2021. As members of the Knox/Pymble Swim Club, Pymble was represented by 15 age group athletes and four Open (two ex-students).  

The Knox/Pymble Swim Club placed second in the overall age group point score. Our highest ever ranking and the highest-ranked NSW Club. This is a fantastic result considering the size and reputation of Australia’s best swim clubs. Congratulations to all swimmers and coaches on this terrific achievement.

Congratulations to Adriana (Year 12), who competed at the Australia Club Championships and qualified for her first Australian Open final in the Women’s 200m Backstroke. The Australia A final is comprised of the fastest ten swimmers for that event on the day. Adriana also qualified for two C finals in the 100m Backstroke and the 50m Freestyle.

Congratulations to Hannah (Year 9) and Elizabeth (Year 12) for their performances for their respective clubs at the National Championship events.

Hannah, Warringah Swim Club, came away from the championships with one silver and two bronze medals.

Elizabeth, Lane Cove Swim Club, competed in her first National Club Champions and qualified for her first 17 to 18 Years final at the Championships.
